ADHERENCE TO THE PAS128 STANDARD
At Meta Environmental, we adhere to the PAS 128 standard, the recognised specification for underground utility detection, verification, and location. PAS 128 provides a framework for delivering high-quality utility surveys, defining methodologies and accuracy levels. By following this standard, we ensure our clients receive reliable and accurate data, essential for informed decision-making.

PAS 128 PROCESS

-
Type D - Desktop: Underground Services and Utilities are identified by collation and analysis of a pre-determined set of existing utility records.
-
Type C - Site Recon: A visual inspection of the site to validate existing utility records and identify potential site hazards to feedback before further Utility Detection takes place.
-
Type B - Detection: Application of a range of available technologies including smart GPS positioning, GPR (ground penetration Radar) and EML (electromagnetic location) technology to detect and pinpoint services within your project footprint.
-
Type A - Verification: Using data collected during survey D/C/B, utilities and services are physically confirmed through trial holes and physical investigation. Trial holes, or test pits, are small, carefully excavated areas that allow for the physical verification of underground utilities. This process helps confirm the presence, depth, and condition of buried services, providing an extra layer of assurance for your projects.
